Trust is the foundation of security and safety. And trust with our children has been threatened. When your child or teen is struggling with trust in the parent child relationship, they may be showing you behavior like lying, seeking other relationships authority, and experimenting with risky behaviors. You may find yourself beyond overwhelmed as a parent because nothing has worked, the yelling, the lectures, and you have no idea what to do.
Hi, I’m Pamela Jones Beacom, an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor at Power Within Child Therapists. I’m devoted to helping children and parents find trust in their relationship again, build safety, and experience hope through the therapeutic journey.
Many parents come to me feeling lost, unsure how to manage the disrespect, trust violations, or disconnection. You are not alone. Change can happen for you, and it begins with understanding your values.
My approach is creative, person-centered, and innovative. I draw from evidence-based modalities like play therapy, Adlerian, narrative, IFS, and expressive therapies, tailoring each session to meet your child’s or teen’s style.
Play and creativity is the fastest and most effective way to get your goals met. Through play and expressive interventions, we help them build trust with you and themselves.
Getting started is simple:
Step 1: Fill out the new appointment form on our website.
Step 2: We’ll have a 20-minute chat to understand your situation and see if we’re a good match.
Step 3: If it’s a good fit, we’ll schedule your first session and begin the counseling journey together.
You and your child can create trust again. Together, we’ll help your child build self esteem, healthy relationships, and align with shared values, so your whole family can feel more bonded and at harmony.
